Cassidy Levy Kent is an international law firm with offices in Ottawa and Washington. Our practice is focused on helping our clients address international trade and investment issues — whether they involve U.S. or Canadian trade controls, trade remedy litigation, dispute settlement proceedings under the World Trade Organization (WTO) and bilateral and regional free trade agreements and investment treaties, or negotiations and other policy efforts. The lawyers at Cassidy Levy Kent have decades of experience as partners in the international trade and investment practices at some of the largest, and most prestigious, law firms in Canada and the United States. We started our firm with the objective of combining the experience and high-quality service for which large firms are known with the flexibility and personal attention of a smaller firm.
Our policy experience includes developing and implementing bilateral, regional and multilateral negotiating strategies, and assisting clients to ensure that their interests are adequately protected in the final legislative and regulatory frameworks. In one way or another, our U.S. lawyers have worked on every major U.S. bilateral, regional and multilateral negotiation since the GATT Tokyo Round, as well as all major U.S. trade legislation since the Trade Act of 1974. Our Canadian lawyers have served as advisors to the Trade Law Bureau of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT), as well as to dispute settlement panels established under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

We have a proven record of success in Canadian and U.S. enforcement proceedings involving customs, export controls, and economic sanctions. With respect to trade remedy litigation, our lawyers have worked on literally hundreds of cases, and we have extensive experience with the full range of legal, economic and accounting issues arising in these proceedings.
