Marc McLaren-Caux is International Trade Counsel in the Canadian office of Cassidy Levy Kent. Mr. McLaren-Caux works on the full spectrum of trade and procurement matters before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, the Canada Border Services Agency, and Canada’s superior and federal courts.
Mr. McLaren-Caux holds a J.D. from the University of Ottawa, with a concentration in the International Law Program. He received awards for highest overall standing in Constitutional Law and Contract Law and was an integral member of the university’s championship team in the 18th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, in which 262 law schools from around the globe participated.
Prior to joining Cassidy Levy Kent, Mr. McLaren-Caux clerked in Canada’s Federal Court for the Honourable Justice Zinn, where he gained significant experience in federal administrative law and judicial review processes. Mr. McLaren-Caux also completed his articles at a large national firm in Ottawa prior to his clerkship, where he focused primarily on federal regulatory law and litigation. Before re-joining Cassidy Levy Kent in early 2017, he practiced for over two years in a specialized litigation firm in Toronto advising and appearing as lead counsel in numerous proceedings before an administrative tribunal and Ontario’s Divisional Court.
