Marios Tokas

Associate / Brussels

Dr Marios Tokas is an associate in Cassidy Levy Kent’s Brussels office. He advises clients on international trade and regulatory matters, including EU trade defence matters and WTO matters. Marios also advises on the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR), and free trade agreements. 

Marios is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at iCourts, Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen, where he researches international dispute settlement and teaches EU competition law and international law. 

Prior to joining Cassidy Levy Kent, Marios has worked at two large American law firms in Geneva, advising on international trade and investment matters. He also served as Head of Trade Law and Regulatory Compliance at a legal technology start-up in Switzerland and as an independent International Trade Consultant advising governments and international organisations on trade and sustainability policy. 

Marios has taught International and European Economic Law as a visiting or adjunct lecturer at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the European Law and Governance School, the Swiss School for International Relations, and the Geneva Graduate Institute. He has also served as Editorial Assistant at the Journal of International Economic Law (Oxford University Press), and as Case Author for the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition on WTO Law. He regularly publishes articles on international trade, investment and competition issues.

Marios is an EU-qualified lawyer, registered with the Athens Bar Association in Greece.
